How I Got Started Podcasting and Why

Rob White made a blog post a little while ago about How and Why you got started podcast and I thought, why not make a blog post about how and why I got started.

When I was about 12 I was starting to really get into the Internet and Web 2.0 stuff. Podcasting was one of them. I really remember watching a podcast awhile back and then I started listening and watching more podcasts. I thought, how could I do this and how hard would it be? I had been using a web service called meebo for awhile and they had just introduced Apps and TalkShoe happened to be one of them. I found Podcaster Training and started listening to archived episodes. Then I started getting into Participating in the shows, by this time I was 13 and I started with my original show, TechCast and I have come a long way since then.

Back to School

Well, after a great summer, I am now back to school. I had a great summer, hanging out by the pool, hosting podcasts, workin’ at TalkShoe and such! Thanks for such a great summer, everyone!

With me returning to school, this also means, probably more blogging - which will help me keep my writing and typing skills up.. Did I ever mention that my English teacher seems to like my writing pieces, thanks for that Ms. Saul/Mrs. Case, you’re the best.

Note: My team had Ms. Saul/Mrs. Case last year, so that is why I know that.

Along with that, it also means TalkShoe Support hours from me at least will be a little less. With New York only allowing me to work three hours (Monday thru Friday), Saturday and Sunday is up to eight hours per day, between 7am and 7pm. I get home around three and I want to make sure Homework and Schoolwork is completed. I usually don’t work Sundays or Mondays and Fridays I usually will work from 4pm to 5pm.

I am liking being back at school and enjoying my classes, I have some great classes and such! So, Thanks for everything. I am thinking this year will be awesome and we’ll all have fun and learn at least a little bit.

P.S. Congratulations Ms. Saul for getting married over the summer. Now known as Mrs. Case.

You’ll probably notice some changes to the comments now, I’ve added a few things.

1. Added Gravatars to Spice it up, as long as you use the email that is registered with Gravatar, you’ll see your’s.

2. When I comment, there is a red, 2px border around my comments now!

3. Added a new field, you must answer a math question, in order to post a comment on this blog now! (They’re easy, Its only addition.)

Soon, I’ll have a post out about how to add gravatars and make your author posts have a different design!

Hey Guys -

I know you haven’t seen much of anything from me lately, I’ve been super busy! Here is a quick overview of what has been going on:

1. Been busy with 2 projects and TalkShoe Support. First project, a Project that me and a few other friends are working on for this school year and we had to have a few meetings and figure some stuff out! The other project being a website for my dad, he and a place he works as a financial secretary wanted me to be the lead web administrator and developer! No, I do not get paid.. I think I get enough for 14 from TalkShoe, Thanks Dave!

2. Just haven’t had the time to update my blog or twitter and other social places.

3. Getting ready to go back to school, next Wednesday. Watch out for a TalkShoe, support update.

In reply to Jeff Chandler’s comment on a post a little bit back, I will explain in a post later.. How I did this theme and what resources were used.

That’s it for now, I’ll update you all in a few.
